A better decision begins with current information
MBBS in Kyrgyzstan for Indian students.
Kyrgyzstan offers medical-study options with English-language teaching, international student communities and clinical learning opportunities. But cost and a familiar university name are not enough: accreditation, the exact course, foreign internship and local licensing rights must be checked before payment.
BIMI: warning and student-transfer order
The Embassy’s 13 July 2026 advisory says not to take admission at listed institutions that failed state accreditation, including Bishkek International Medical Institute (BIMI). Ministry of Health Order No. 1074 dated 14 September 2026 directs students on BIMI’s five-year programme to transfer to KSMA at the corresponding semester. Its old profile is retained for reference—not as a recommended new-admission option. [1] [3]
Jalal-Abad State University: read the later clarification. The Embassy’s 25 August 2026 advisory says students may take admission at Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov and Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn despite their one-year accreditation terms, following official assurances. This is a specific clarification—not a blanket withdrawal of the July warning. [2]
| Decision point | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Programme and duration | Published routes differ: five years, 5.5 years or six years are not interchangeable. Identify academic study, actual internship and any additional professional training. |
| Indian requirements | Qualifying NEET and the applicable academic/age conditions are separate from admission tests and course suitability. |
| Language | Get written English-medium evidence throughout the required course/training, and prepare for Kyrgyz or Russian patient communication. |
| Cost | Use the correct year, applicant category, currency and billing period—not a generic national package. |
| Safety and support | Confirm housing, insurance, visa/residence arrangements, emergency contacts and current mission advice. |

Osh State ≠ Osh International
Osh International Medical University is separately named in the July warning. Do not transfer that name, fee or status to Osh State University. [1]
IHSM, IMU and BIMI differ
International Higher School of Medicine is not the same institution as International Medical University or Bishkek International Medical Institute. [1] [9]

Kant · Official site now uses the university name. Verify the exact five-/six-year medical route, campus, current certificate and internship.
Osh · Official 2026–27 fee documents identify the five-year foreign English General Medicine route. Do not confuse OshSU with Osh International Medical University.
Bishkek · July admission warning; September order transfers five-year-programme students to KSMA. Retained for reference, not recommended for new admission.
Bishkek / Karakol · Named in the original guide. Publishes 2026–27 campus enrollment plans; confirm remaining seats, the current admission route and internship separately.
Bishkek / Issyk-Kul · Named as ISM in the original guide. Reports General Medicine accreditation through May 2032; its programme page describes 5.5 years.
Jalal-Abad · August clarification allows admission despite the one-year accreditation term. This is distinct from Jalal-Abad International University.

- Confirm the exact legal institution, campus, programme code, award and applicant category.
- Obtain the current licence/accreditation documents and check later orders before paying.
- Request written clinical, internship and local-registration arrangements for foreign nationals.
- Compare recent institute-specific exam results with year and candidate counts; no pass-rate guarantee.
Separate Indian eligibility from university selection
Eligibility, NEET & university entrance requirements.
Do not treat “50% / 40% PCB plus NEET” as a complete admission or licensing decision. Check Indian subject, grade, category and age conditions, the university’s own entry criteria and the actual programme independently.
| Requirement | Evidence and next action |
|---|---|
| NEET for covered Indian/OCI applicants [16] | Qualify NEET and meet the underlying Indian conditions. The qualifying result has three-year validity from declaration for the relevant foreign-medical-study purpose; an old appearance alone is not enough. |
| School documents and age | Obtain the accepted qualification/equivalence, science-subject, grade and age criteria. Indian category concessions do not automatically change a foreign university’s own threshold. |
| KSMA entrance tests [7] | The international page describes Biology and Chemistry tests for the English route and a minimum 60% competition threshold. Confirm the current scoring and procedure; this is not a NEET cutoff. |
| IHSM selection [11] | The applicant page requires more than 50% in Chemistry, Biology and English and describes an English interview/verbal exam in those subjects. Reconfirm current requirements and Indian NEET evidence. |
| Full-course English | Check teaching, assessments, clinical instruction and internship language. English admission marketing is not course-wide proof; local patient communication still needs preparation. |
Check what to verify next
A planning aid for new Indian/OCI applicants—not a university eligibility certificate, legal assessment or NMC approval. Your answers are declarations, not verified documents.
Inputs stay in this page and are not saved or transmitted. A positive selection does not verify the course, grade equivalence, age, admission status or right to register.
Current status comes before the application form
Kyrgyzstan admission process & 2026 updates.
The Embassy’s June notice reports a new state foreign-student admissions centre. Confirm its current procedures with the competent authority and institution; older agent or representative instructions alone may no longer describe the complete route. [4]
Read the notices together
Check the exact institutionJuly warns against named institutions. August clarifies two named state universities. September directs specified student transfers. Do not generalise one update to every college or applicant. [1] [2] [3]
A schedule is not a reserved seat
Ask for a dated confirmationKSMA’s international page lists English-route documents from 1 July–1 October, tests from 1 September–15 October and enrollment to 15 October. Its 2026–27 planned capacity is separately published. IHSM lists summer/winter windows, but its admission-plan page remains labelled 2023–24. Do not infer current availability or a guaranteed late round. [7] [8] [11] [24]
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 · Resolve institution status | Read current accreditation/transfer notices and verify the exact institution and programme. Do not treat a warning-listed profile as a recommended admission. |
| 2 · Verify the official route | Check new state admissions-centre procedures and the institution’s current authorised application channel. Independently verify every representative. |
| 3 · Prepare documents | Arrange accepted school records, NEET evidence, passport, translations/apostille, health and insurance documents. |
| 4 · Complete selection | Follow university science/language tests, interview, document verification and the actual current deadline. |
| 5 · Review the contract and pay safely | Use an English/bilingual contract, itemised charges, refund terms and independently verified official payment details. Preserve receipts. |
| 6 · Confirm travel and lawful stay | Obtain the appropriate educational entry/residence permissions, housing and insurance; complete current arrival/registration formalities. |

Match the academic year, institution, programme, foreign-student category and billing period. A rupee “package” or an old dollar range is not a verified current national price list.
| Institution / source | Published reference | What it does—and does not—cover |
|---|---|---|
| Osh State University [5] [6] | KGS 325,000 · year 1 · 2026–27 | The linked revision changes KGS 330,000 to 325,000 for the five-year English General Medicine route for foreign citizens. Obtain the actual contract and internship/later-year charges. |
| IHSM [11] | USD 7,500 for semesters 1–2; USD 6,000 per next semester pair through semester 10 | Published table, but surrounding copy refers to 2025—not an explicitly verified 2026–27 tariff. First-year hostel/medical entries are “N/A”, not proof of free/included services. Final half-year/internship pricing needs clarification. |
| Asian / KSMA / Jalal-Abad State | Current written quote required | No comparable dated 2026–27 foreign medical tuition amount was verified here. Do not substitute a consultant package or another university’s fee. |
| BIMI | Not presented as a new-admission price option | See the admission warning and student-transfer order. A historical low fee does not resolve the status issue. |
| Beyond tuition | Include or verify |
|---|---|
| Housing and living | Room/lease, food, utilities, local travel, phone/data and vacation accommodation. Do not count an included hostel/mess item twice. |
| Formalities and protection | Visa/residence/registration, insurance, health checks, translation, apostille and qualification recognition. |
| Travel and study | Flights, winter clothing, books/equipment, repeated exams and emergency reserves. |
| Internship and professional route | The actual foreign internship fee and living period, local licensing/training and the later Indian exam/internship/registration pathway. |
Build a study-period budget—not a package promise
Start with Osh State University’s revised 2026–27 first-year tuition reference, then replace assumptions with your written quote. All monetary inputs use one selected currency.
Starting tuition uses Osh’s revised 2026–27 first-year foreign English General Medicine reference of KGS 325,000. Repeating it for five years at 0% increase is an assumption, not a future-fee contract. KGS 22,000/month housing + living, KGS 200,000 other costs, 10% reserve and ₹1/KGS are illustrations—not current quotes or live FX. This five-year study scenario does not automatically include a qualifying foreign internship, extra professional training or the later Indian pathway.
Calculation: annual-basis tuition = sum of starting tuition × (1 + annual increase) raised to year 0, 1, …; full-period tuition = your entered total once. Add months × monthly living + other costs, then the reserve, then convert to INR. Changing tuition years resets living months to 12 × years; edit months afterwards if needed. Currency changes clear financial amounts and the old conversion rate. Changing tuition basis clears the tuition amount to prevent double-counting. No live rates, loan interest, salary, scholarship, stipend or unentered costs are assumed.
Different yearly or internship fees? Add confirmed tuition amounts and choose full-period tuition. Set living months separately—for example, 66 months for a 5.5-year scenario. A duration entered here does not certify that a course meets NMC rules.
Understand the course before trusting the duration
Medical syllabus, duration & internship in Kyrgyzstan.
There is no single duration statement that safely describes every route. KSMA’s international page describes five-year English General Medicine; IHSM describes 5.5 years/260 weeks and 320 ECTS; Asian’s site lists five-/six-year options. Ask each institution to separate academic education, internship and any later licensing training. [7] [10] [12]
Biomedical foundations and integrated learning
IHSM describes an integrated biomedical/clinical model; this is a learning-area example, not a national year-by-year syllabus.
- Ask for the actual timetable covering anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology and related foundation sciences.
- Check how basic science, clinical reasoning, research and professional ethics connect across the programme.
Clinical learning and supervised patient contact
Published learning methods include clinical cases, simulation, practical-skills work and patient-based learning.
- Review the real teaching hospitals, clinical departments, supervision, case logs and assessment.
- Confirm medical, surgical, pediatric, reproductive-health and community-health coverage in the official curriculum; prepare for local patient language.
Document the actual foreign internship
A programme length or a “5 + 1” brochure line is not internship evidence.
- Obtain exact duration, supervising institution, country/location, rotations, attendance, language and certification.
- Check the applicable same-institution/country requirement and the costs/living months of training beyond the academic course.
Local professional entry and return to India
Admission, graduation, foreign practice eligibility and Indian registration are different stages.
- Clarify the host-country examination, registration and any additional training rights/conditions for foreign nationals.
- Follow the applicable Indian examination, internship and registration route. Transfers need individual authoritative review, not an agent’s blanket approval.
Host-country status is not a blanket NMC approval
Accreditation, transfers & the Indian licensing pathway.
| Source / status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Kyrgyz state accreditation [1] [2] [9] | Read current official decisions for the exact institution and programme. IHSM reports General Medicine accreditation from 29 May 2026 to 29 May 2032; this alone is not an individual Indian compliance decision. |
| NMC [16] | NMC does not endorse a list of foreign medical universities. A country name, admission offer or “NMC-approved” badge is not enough. |
| WDOMS / WHO / FAIMER labels [20] | A directory listing is not recognition, accreditation or endorsement. International practice rights depend on the destination regulator. |
| BIMI transfer order [3] | A host-country order transfers specified students to KSMA. It does not automatically waive Indian same-institution/country or other course conditions. |
| NBEMS examination [19] | Check the current official bulletin and individual eligibility. No universal replacement of FMGE by NExT, or future graduation-year exam prediction, is claimed. |
Check the actual course and your applicable cohort.
For the applicable FMGL 2021 cohort, requirements include at least 54 months of medical education plus a 12-month internship at the same foreign institution, English instruction, the required subjects, and host-country registration/licensing at par with citizens. Same-institution/country and completion-time conditions also matter. [17]
The later Indian route separately includes the prescribed examination, at least 12 months of supervised internship in India for the applicable cohort, and registration. Passing an exam does not automatically cure an unsuitable course arrangement. [17]
Plan without an unconfirmed award or future earnings
Scholarships, loans & funding your medical studies.
Check the exact university, nationality, programme and intake before treating a scholarship or discount as available. A mobility grant, postgraduate award or scholarship for studying in India is not automatically funding for an Indian student’s medical course in Kyrgyzstan.
Written terms first
Confirm tuition/hostel coverage, duration, renewal, academic conditions and any exclusions.
Budget the full period
Include internship, insurance, living and travel not covered by the award.
Compare the real terms
Review eligibility, security, interest, currency costs, disbursement and repayment—not just the headline sanction.
No guaranteed scholarship, loan approval, job, salary or investment return is asserted. The calculator does not subtract an unconfirmed award or future earnings.
Build a file that supports admission and the later pathway
Documents for Kyrgyzstan medical admission.
| Document group | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Academic qualification | Class X/XII or accepted equivalent records, science subjects, grades, recognised equivalence, accepted translations and apostille/legalisation. |
| Indian eligibility | NEET qualification/result date and applicable underlying academic, category and age evidence. |
| Identity and admission | Passport, consistent names/dates, route-specific photographs, application/offer/enrollment records and current institution status. |
| Health and insurance | University/immigration-specific health reports, vaccinations/tests where required and an actual insurance policy. |
| Financial and contractual | English or bilingual tuition/service contracts, itemised fees, refund terms, authorised payment instructions and receipts. |
| Travel and residence | Current education-related entry permission, residence/registration records, accommodation address and renewal diary. |
| Long-term professional evidence | Curriculum, attendance, credits, examination results, clinical/internship certification, host-country professional records and any official transfer order. |
The Embassy advises apostilled Indian education documents, understandable contracts and direct verification of costs. KSMA and IHSM have different document/photo/passport specifications; get the checklist for your actual route instead of combining every list into a universal rule. [14] [7] [11]
Plan lawful stay and practical safety—not just arrival
Visa, residence, accommodation & safety.
2026 rules need a fresh check. An Embassy notice describes Decree No. 312 dated 30 April 2026, including a revised short-term entry and residence-card framework for longer stays. It is not a complete student-specific checklist. Confirm your current education-related visa/entry, residence, registration and renewal procedure with the Kyrgyz authorities and university. [15]
Older KSMA guidance describes an S study visa, five-day arrival registration and advance renewals. Do not assume every older deadline or annual visa-extension step remains the current rule after the 2026 changes. Act promptly on arrival and request written instructions before travel. [7]
Confirm the real room
Check address, room allocation/lease, food, utilities, heating, safe ventilation, transport and emergency access.
Check the actual policy
Review inpatient/outpatient cover, exclusions, emergency evacuation/repatriation, hospitals and claim procedures.
Verify the recipient
Confirm university/state-centre instructions independently. Separate official tuition from a representative’s service charges.
Register with the Indian mission, retain current local/university contacts and copies of passport, residence and student documents, and review current advisories before travel. The Embassy student page lists emergency assistance at +996 555710041; confirm the current mission contact before departure. [14] [21]
Plan the pathway, not just the first semester
Careers & your Kyrgyzstan study-planning checklist.

Questions to answer before paying
MBBS in Kyrgyzstan: frequently asked questions.
Is every Kyrgyz medical university NMC-approved?
No. NMC does not endorse a foreign-college list. Check the exact course, foreign internship, host-country licensing and your applicable Indian requirements. [16] [17]
What changed for BIMI in 2026?
The July Embassy notice includes BIMI in the failed-state-accreditation warning. The September Ministry of Health order directs students on its five-year programme to KSMA at the corresponding semester. Its old profile is retained for reference, not as a recommended new-admission option. [1] [3]
Does the BIMI transfer automatically satisfy Indian rules?
No automatic Indian exemption is established by that host-country order. Follow official directions, preserve records and seek written NMC/State Medical Council guidance for the individual cohort and course. [3] [17]
Can students consider Jalal-Abad State University?
The Embassy’s 25 August clarification says students may take admission at Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov despite its one-year term, following official assurances. Verify the exact programme and current status. This is not Jalal-Abad International University. [2]
Are Asian Medical Institute and Asian International University connected?
The original asmi.edu.kg domain now presents Asian International University named after S. Tentishev. The old profile URL is retained, with the current official-site name and Kant location. Verify the name on current programme and contract documents. [12] [13]
Is Osh State the same as Osh International Medical University?
No. Do not confuse the institutions or substitute their fees/status. Osh International Medical University is separately named in the July warning; this guide’s preserved Osh profile is for Osh State University.
Is MBBS in Kyrgyzstan always five years plus one year?
No universal structure is established. KSMA lists a five-year English route, IHSM describes 5.5 years and Asian lists five-/six-year options. Obtain the actual academic and internship plan; duration alone is not NMC compliance. [7] [10] [12]
Is NEET the only entrance requirement?
No. Covered Indian applicants must meet NEET and underlying Indian conditions, while universities can have additional science tests, interviews, language and academic requirements. [7] [11] [16]
How long is a qualifying NEET result valid for this purpose?
NMC gives three-year validity from declaration of the result for the relevant foreign-medical-study purpose, subject to the underlying conditions. Confirm the dates and route rather than relying on an old exam appearance. [16]
What current Osh tuition reference was verified?
The 2026–27 medical tariff revision changes the first-year foreign English General Medicine amount from KGS 330,000 to KGS 325,000. This is not a fixed five-year package or a verified internship fee. [5] [6]
Is IHSM’s published dollar table a confirmed 2026–27 quote?
Not here. Its table lists USD 7,500 for semesters 1–2 and USD 6,000 for each subsequent pair through semester 10, but surrounding text refers to 2025. Ask for current validity, inclusions and the missing final half-year/internship price. [11]
Does the calculator include every licensing-pathway cost?
No. It totals only your entered tuition, living months, other costs, reserve and manual FX. The default is a five-year study illustration; additional foreign internship, training and the later Indian pathway are not automatically included.
Are September and February intakes guaranteed?
No national intake calendar or current seat guarantee is established. Reconfirm dated university/state-centre instructions, programme availability and deadlines. An old calendar or an Apply Now button is not enough.
Can I work on a student visa to fund the course?
Do not assume a work entitlement. KSMA’s published study-visa guidance prohibits full- and part-time work; check the current rules after 2026 migration changes with competent authorities. Arrange funding independently. [7] [15]
Can I practise in India immediately after graduation?
Not automatically. Applicable course/cohort conditions, the prescribed examination, internship and registration requirements must be met. Future exam arrangements are not guaranteed by this page. [17] [19]
Does the checker certify eligibility or submit an application?
No. It generates planning checks from unverified declarations, stores/transmits no answers and does not establish admission, visa or registration eligibility. The counseling button opens the existing Search My Colleges enquiry form.

Sources & editorial review notes.
Reviewed 28 September 2026. Current authority notices, signed contracts and individual regulatory decisions take precedence. A university’s own accreditation report, a published year-one fee and a general calendar each have limits; none is an admission or licensing guarantee.
- Embassy — admission warning, 13 July 2026 ↗
Advises against admission at institutions that failed state accreditation or received only a one-year term. Bishkek International Medical Institute is in the failed-accreditation list. Read together with the later August clarification and September transfer order.
- Embassy — two state universities clarified, 25 August 2026 ↗
Permits consideration of admission at Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn and Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov despite their one-year terms, following assurances about special state status and a procedural accreditation cycle. This is not a blanket reversal for all institutions in July’s warning.
- Kyrgyz Ministry of Health — Order No. 1074, 14 September 2026 ↗
Embassy-hosted order directs students in BIMI’s five-year programme to transfer to KSMA, to the corresponding semester. It also gives separate Ala-Too and IMU Dentistry transfer directions. A host-country transfer order does not by itself settle Indian FMGL eligibility.
- Embassy — foreign-student admissions centre, 23 June 2026 ↗
Reports the creation of a state International Students Admission Center under Resolution No. 189 of 19 March 2026. Applicants should verify current official procedures instead of relying only on older representative/application instructions.
- Osh State University — revised foreign-student tariff, 2026–27 ↗
Revision linked by the university’s fee index for 2026–27. International Medicine, General Medicine 560001, five-year English route for foreign citizens, course/year 1: changes 330,000 to 325,000. Read with the main som-denominated tariff. Not a complete-course or internship quote.
- Osh State University — main 2026–27 tariff ↗
Main tariff explicitly states amounts in Kyrgyz soms. It distinguishes local, CIS and foreign categories and course years. The separately linked medical revision supersedes the affected first-year amount; later-year rows are not a guarantee of future prices for a new entrant.
- KSMA — international applicants ↗
Publishes a five-year English General Medicine route for 12-year school graduates, Biology/Chemistry entrance tests, document requirements and English-route dates. The calendar is not explicitly labelled as a current dated seat-availability notice. Visa/representative instructions must be reconciled with 2026 reforms.
- KSMA — 2026–27 applicant information ↗
Lists planned English General Medicine enrollment of 800 at Bishkek and 200 at Karakol for 2026–27. Planned capacity is not remaining seats, a fee quote or approval of every programme arrangement.
- IHSM — state accreditation announcement, 2 September 2026 ↗
University reports General Medicine state accreditation from 29 May 2026 to 29 May 2032. This is a dated institutional report, not an individual Indian registration decision.
- IHSM — undergraduate programme ↗
Describes 5.5 years/260 weeks and 320 ECTS with integrated biomedical/clinical learning and practical skills. Its general duration does not independently establish the required foreign internship. Historic WHO/FAIMER approval language is not adopted as regulatory fact.
- IHSM — undergraduate applicants and published fees ↗
Lists more than 50% in Chemistry, Biology and English; Indian NEET; an English interview/verbal examination in Biology, Chemistry and English. Fee table: USD 7,500 for semesters 1–2 and USD 6,000 for each of the next four semester pairs. Surrounding copy refers to 2025; no explicit 2026–27 tariff validity or final half-year pricing is established.
- Asian International University — official site ↗
The original Asian Medical Institute domain now presents Asian International University named after S. Tentishev. Lists five-/six-year English medical routes and a six-year state-accreditation claim. Confirm actual programme/campus, certificate scope, validity and internship instead of inferring universal compliance.
- Asian International University — contact and location ↗
Official contact page gives Gagarina Street 58, Kant. Used to distinguish the actual institution/city from generic Bishkek marketing.
- Embassy — advice for Indian students in Kyrgyzstan ↗
Advises direct fee/course verification, apostilled documents, understandable contracts, authentic agents, safe custody of personal documents, housing checks and mission registration. Explains that NMC does not endorse a foreign-college list. Emergency number displayed: +996 555710041.
- Embassy — new visa-issuing procedure, 2026 ↗
Describes Decree No. 312 dated 30 April 2026 and a revised short-term entry/residence-card framework for longer stays. The notice is not a complete student-specific application checklist; confirm current educational entry, residence and registration requirements with competent authorities.
- NMC — For Students to Study Abroad ↗
NMC does not endorse a list of foreign medical universities. Indian citizens/OCIs intending to obtain a primary medical qualification abroad from May 2018 must qualify NEET; the qualifying result is deemed the eligibility certificate subject to the underlying conditions, and is valid for three years from the result date for this purpose.
- NMC — Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021 ↗
For the applicable cohort: minimum 54 months of medical education, 12-month internship at the same foreign institution, English instruction, required subjects, local registration/licensing condition at par with citizens, at least 12 months supervised internship in India and the mandated test. Foreign course/training/internship location and completion-time conditions also apply; earlier cohorts and notified exemptions need separate review.
- NMC — Foreign medical graduate FAQs, 8 June 2026 ↗
Clarifies pandemic/war-related compensatory physical training and the 18 March 2026 notice. Does not create a general new exemption. Earlier-cohort internship/registration cases require State Medical Council verification; a compensation certificate is not automatic registration.
- NBEMS — FMGE examination portal ↗
Official screening-test information, current bulletins and institute-wise performance reports. FMGE material is still published at review; this guide does not claim that NExT has universally replaced it or forecast the exam applicable at a future graduation date.
- World Directory of Medical Schools — About ↗
Explicitly states that a directory listing is not, by itself, recognition, accreditation or endorsement by WDOMS, WFME, FAIMER or its sponsors. Check the exact school/programme record and relevant regulator requirements.
- MEA — Travel Advisories ↗
Official travel-advisory entry point. Consult the current country/region notice and Indian mission guidance before paying or travelling. Inclusion of a destination in this guide is not a safety clearance.
- Original Search My Colleges Kyrgyzstan page ↗
- Osh State University — official fee index ↗
Links the 2026–27 main tariff and the specific 2026–27 foreign-student medical revision. The older “Applicant 2025” menu label is not used to dismiss the newer linked documents.
- IHSM — admission-plan page ↗
Still labelled 2023–2024 at review. It is not used to invent 2026–27 campus capacity, remaining seats or intake deadlines.
