MS ≠ Master of Science
Master of Science (MSc/MS) is 1-2 years after BSc, entrance via IIT JAM, GATE, CUET-PG, focused on biology, chemistry, physics, data science. It does NOT lead to surgical practice and does NOT require MBBS.
MS = Master of Surgery
3-year surgical residency after MBBS, entrance via NEET PG / INI CET, hands-on operation theatre training, thesis, clinical rotations. Leads to surgeon registration and eligibility for MCh super-specialization.
