Established in 1913, Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics is one of the oldest and most reputed colleges in India. It was the first dedicated Constituent Commerce College in the Asian Continent which is affiliated to Dr. Homi Bhabha State University, Mumbai. The college is located at B. Road, Churchgate, Mumbai and is graded ‘A’ grade by NAAC. Sydenham College is popular for offering commerce education in a variety of courses such as BCom, BMS, BBI, BAF, BSM, MCom, BSC. (Finance) , BBA, BS Luxury Brand and Retail Management. However, admission to these programs is strictly done via the merit lists prepared by the college itself. The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in last qualifying exam as well as HBSU-CET entrance exam (for management courses).

Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics Courses and Fees

Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics offers UG as well as PG courses to the interested candidates in the stream of commerce and science. The duration of the UG courses ranges between 3 to 4 years and the duration of PG courses is 2 years. Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics admission 2024 has started. The admission process is both merit-based and entrance-based for the UG courses. The admission to the PG courses is also carried out on the basis of merit.  Admission for all first year UG and PG courses is done as per the rules and regulations laid down by HBSU and Govt of Maharashtra.

  • Step 1: Candidates have to register for their chosen course and college on the official website of HBSU using their mobile number, email address and date of birth.
  • Step 2: After this, candidates have to pay a minimal registration fee and wait for the class 12 results. The merit list is released for both merit-based courses as well as entrance-based courses. For admission to the BS (Management Studies), BS (Sports Management), BS (Banking and Financial Analytics), and BS (Luxury Brand and Retail Management) courses, candidates must have to appear in the HBSU CET 2024. The Common Entrance Test is conducted in two different phases by the university. For the rest of the courses, merit list is released on the basis of marks in last qualifying exam.   • For admission to BS-BFA course, 50% weightage is given to class 12 marks and 50% weightage is given to HBSU-CET/BSE-CET scores.
  • The admission to BS-LBRM course will be based on 25% of XII score and 50% on score of HBSU-CET/MAH-CET/NPAT/TSOLR – UG or equivalent entrance exam and 25% to the personal interview.
  • The merit list for BS-BM and BS-SM is released where 50% weightage is given to HSC score and 50% to HBSU-CET/MAH-CET/NPAT scores.
  • Step 3: After the merit list is released by the college as per HBSU guidelines, shortlisted candidates have to report to their respective colleges with all the required documents. Then, they should pay the Sydenham College admission fee in online mode through the college’s official website. 
  • Step 4: The candidates must then submit the admission form, supporting documents and a copy of fee payment receipt at the college to confirm their admission at the college.
