TS PGECET 2027 is due to be held in May-June 2027. It will be an online computer based test (CBT) of two hours duration with the question papers in English. The registration link is also expected to go live in Feb-Mar 2027 along with the notification.
The 2027 schedule hasn’t been released yet. All the dates and fees listed above are purely indicative based on the previous cycle and are subject to change. The final details will be confirmed on the official TG PGECET website.
TG PGECET (also known as TS PGECET) is the state-level entrance exam for postgraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Telangana. Eligible GATE and GPAT candidates can also apply for admission through the relevant admission process. The rules relating to their admission and seat allocation will be different from those for candidates appearing in the TG PGECET.
JNTUH conducts the Telangana Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TGPGET) on behalf of the Telangana Government Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). It is the entrance test for admission to eligible postgraduate professional programmes at the various universities and colleges across Telangana that are part of the TGPGET.
Candidates wishing to join M.E., M.Tech., M.Pharm. and M.Arch. courses may appear for the relevant test paper subject to the course-specific eligibility criteria. Admissions to the Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate) course will be in accordance with the relevant admission rules.
The process is generally online registration, entrance exam, declaration of results, and then counselling. If you’re a GATE/GPAT candidate, you’ll need to check the official admission notification to see how your score is going to be used and whether you need to go through a separate process.

The official TS PGECET 2027 timetable is still to be announced. Based on the likely exam cycle we would expect, the following timeline can be used by candidates to plan their preparation. These are just estimates, not actual dates.
Note: Candidates should check the official website on a regular basis for the confirmed schedule. Application deadlines, exam dates, and counselling dates should not be treated as final until the relevant notices have been issued.
The TS PGECET 2027 application form is due to be released online in Feb-Mar 2027. Applicants should check the eligibility criteria and have their academic and personal details to hand prior to commencing the registration process.
Once the application link is activated, candidates can generally follow these steps:
Check the 2027 information brochure for the precise steps, accepted modes of payment, documentation required, and the final submission process. If you’re applying for more than one paper, you should also check whether there is a separate fee for each paper.
Eligibility is course-specific and will vary from university to university. Candidates should check the official course-specific eligibility document rather than assume that one qualification will be acceptable for all courses.
Applicants will generally be required to have a relevant undergraduate qualification (e.g. a B.E. or B. Tech.) or another qualification as accepted for the specialisation in question. Some courses will accept other qualifications where that is specified in the official rules.
Candidates in their final year of their qualifying degree may be eligible to apply (subject to the conditions set out in the notification). The required subject background and minimum marks will of course vary from course to course and institution to institution.
Candidates will generally be required to hold a recognised B.Arch. degree or another qualification which is specifically accepted for the architecture programme in question. Applicants are advised to check the eligibility requirements of the relevant university prior to selecting the examination paper.
A recognised B.Pharm. is generally a prerequisite for M.Pharm. programmes. GPAT-qualified candidates should check the official admission guidelines to see how their GPAT scores are treated and what registration is still required.
Previous admission rules generally required a minimum of 50% for eligible engineering and pharmacy candidates and 45% for those from the specified reserved categories. The applicable conditions will of course vary depending on the course and the rules in force.
Candidates must also meet the relevant nationality and local/non-local status requirements. Final year students, those with equivalent qualifications, and those applying for category benefits should refer to the official 2027 notification for confirmation.
The application fee for the 2027 exam has not been announced yet. In the last cycle, it was ₹1,100 per test paper for the general category and ₹600 per test paper for SC/ST/PwD candidates. These are just the previous cycle figures for reference and should not be taken as the fee for 2027.
The official notification will specify the final amount, any additional paper charges, late fees, and payment instructions. Candidates should check the official website prior to making a payment.
Candidates should be preparing in accordance with the syllabus for the test paper they have selected. The official 2027 syllabus has not yet been issued, so the previous syllabus can be used as a guide for the initial stages of preparation. Candidates should, of course, check the syllabus once the new notification is out.
The previous examination cycle included the following test paper codes:
The subjects and paper codes listed above are from the previous cycle. Candidates must download the official 2027 syllabus and check the code, topics, and examination requirements for their chosen branch prior to finalising their study plan.
The prior TS PGECET pattern was a computer-based test of 120 MCQs. The total score was 120 marks, and the duration of the test was two hours.
The previous pattern was one mark for each correct response and no negative marking for incorrect answers. Papers were in English.
The 2027 exam pattern hasn’t been officially announced yet. Use the above details for your initial prep only. Always check the latest info brochure for the definitive exam pattern, marking scheme, and qualifying criteria.
A structured preparation plan will help the candidate to cover the syllabus, improve accuracy, and manage time during the exam.
The TS PGECET 2027 exam dates and the paper-wise session allocation have not yet been announced. In the previous cycle, the exam was conducted over a number of days with morning and afternoon sessions.
The earlier session timings were:
The official 2027 timetable will contain the precise dates and papers for each session. The individual hall tickets will have the confirmed date, reporting time, exam centre, and session. Don’t plan your travel or exam attendance based on a subject-wise timetable from an earlier year.
The TS PGECET 2027 hall ticket is due to be released prior to the entrance exam. The conducting authority will announce the confirmed release date.
After the hall ticket link becomes active, candidates can generally download their admit cards by following these steps:
Candidates must keep their hall tickets safe and follow the instructions printed on them. If any information on the hall ticket appears to be incorrect, please contact the examination authorities via the official helpdesk prior to the test.
Counselling is to follow on release of the result and rank card. The 2027 counselling calendar, registration requirements, processing fee, and details of the colleges participating are yet to be announced.
The process generally involves online registration, certificate verification, payment of the prescribed counselling fee, entry of web options, and seat allotment. Candidates are expected to adhere to the process as prescribed for their course and admission category.
GATE and GPAT qualified candidates should go through the relevant admission notification as their eligibility, priority and seat allocation process may be different to that of the TS PGECET rank holders.
Candidates should also check the official counselling website for updates, the list of participating institutions, the courses available and the instructions regarding reporting to your allotted college.
The documents required for counselling will vary from candidate to candidate depending on the course, category, and eligibility. The following documents may be required under the relevant admission rules:
The exam is due to take place in May/June 2027. The official schedule has not been announced at this point, though. Candidates should keep an eye on the TG PGECET website for the actual exam dates, session timings, and paper-wise schedule.
Registration is due to get underway in February/March 2027. The official notification will contain the application link. Applicants are expected to check the official site to confirm the opening date, the submission deadline, and any late fee deadlines prior to applying.
In the last cycle, the application fee was ₹1,100 per test paper for general category candidates and ₹600 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The 2027 fee has not yet been announced, so applicants are advised to check the latest notification before paying.
The examination is used for admission to eligible postgraduate programmes such as M.E., M.Tech., M.Pharm., and M.Arch. in Telangana. Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate) admissions may also fall under the relevant admission rules. Check the participating courses and eligibility conditions in the official notification.
GATE-qualified candidates may be considered for eligible postgraduate engineering admissions under the relevant rules. Their admission priority and process may be different from that of candidates appearing for the TS PGECET. Applicants should refer to the relevant admission notification to find out the registration and counselling procedure.
Under the old pattern, candidates generally needed 25% of the total marks (30 out of 120) to be in with a chance of getting a rank. That pattern didn’t have any minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates. Candidates should check the 2027 rules before relying on this.
The old exam pattern was 120 MCQs for 120 marks. The duration was two hours, one mark for each correct answer, and no negative marking. The official 2027 notification will confirm whether that’s still the case.
