Ans. NSUT offers hostel accommodation to both boys and girls. A total of 6 hostel buildings are provided on the campus. Each hostel building has its own mess and is located close to the campus canteen and administrative block. Each boys’ hostel accommodates up to 276 students. Single and double-bedded rooms are available as well. The fee for the boys’ hostel is INR 34,000 to INR 36,000, while the fee for the girls’ hostel is INR 33,000 to INR 42,000. The fee has to be paid per semester.

Ques. How do students balance academics and extracurricular activities at NSUT?

Ans. NSUT makes balancing academics and extracurricular activities possible, but it requires good time management. While studies are important, college offers many opportunities for personal growth. Many students do well in both by setting aside time for their studies while also joining clubs, events, or sports. The campus encourages students to get involved in extracurricular activities, making the overall experience more enjoyable. Weekends are often used to relax and engage in personal interests, helping students maintain a good balance.

Ques. Is NSUT as good as IIT?

Ans. NSUT is one of the most reputed government colleges in Delhi, whereas IITs are known to be the most prestigious national institutes for Engineering. Neither of the institutes is generally rated on the same level, as IITs have more brand value and are of national importance.

  • On Collegedunia, IIT Delhi is rated 4.3/2, while NSUT is rated 3.7/5.
  • IIT Delhi is ranked 2nd by NIRF in 2025 under the B.Tech category, whereas NSUT is ranked 70th by NIRF in 2025.
  • NSUT gives good placement numbers every year. But IIT Delhi has more companies coming, higher middle salary, and more jobs abroad.
  • However, NSUT is more affordable with good academics and placement exposure.
  • IITs have more academic pressure with a wider research and innovation platform.

In short, NSUT is a very good option for students who get lower ranks and cannot get into IITs.

Ques. Can I visit NSUT before admission to take advice from seniors?

Ans. Yes, you can generally visit the NSUT campus before admission to get a feel for it and possibly chat with seniors, as it’s a common practice for students in Delhi colleges like NSUT, DTU, etc. Many prospective students do this by politely telling the security guards at the gate that they’re there to see the campus or inquire about the college—often they allow entry, especially on weekdays during college hours. However, access isn’t always guaranteed.

Ques. Does NSUT have good industry connections?

Ans. Yes, NSUT has good industry connections. It maintains strong ties with top tech and other companies, regularly attracting recruiters like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Apple, Deloitte, Atlassian, Zomato, and many more—over 200 companies visited in recent placement seasons. This results in high placement rates, solid average packages, and practical exposure.

Ques. Is NSUT good for students interested in coding and tech careers?

Ans. Yes, NSUT is a good choice for students who enjoy coding and want a career in the tech field. Many students there take part in coding practice and competitions, and they support each other in learning new skills. The environment encourages programming and problem-solving. In branches like CSE and IT, placements are strong, and most students get job offers by the end of their course, often around 90% or even more.
