AAU VET 2026: BVSc Admission, Important Dates & Preparation Guide

The Assam Agricultural University Veterinary Entrance Test (AAU VET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, for admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) programme offered by veterinary colleges affiliated with the university. The entrance examination evaluates candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology and serves as the primary admission route for eligible candidates seeking veterinary education in Assam.

AAU VET is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and satisfy the prescribed domicile and eligibility requirements can apply online through the official AAU admission portal. Final admission is based on entrance examination performance, counselling, document verification, and seat allotment.

• Exam: AAU VET 2026 is being conducted in the third week of June 2026 across three cities — Guwahati, Jorhat, and Biswanath Chariali. The exam is 2 hours long with 150 MCQs carrying 150 marks total.
• Answer Key: The provisional answer key for AAU VET 2026 is expected within 5–7 days after the exam concludes. In 2025, the answer key was released approximately one week after exam day.
• Result: AAU VET 2026 result is expected in July–August 2026, about 3–4 weeks after the exam. Last year, the result was published with category-wise merit lists on the official portal at admission.aau.ac.in.
• Counselling: AAU VET 2026 counselling is expected in August–September 2026. Approximately 150 B.V.Sc & A.H. seats will be allotted across two colleges — College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara (Guwahati), and Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (North Lakhimpur).

How To Apply For the AAU VET 2026 Entrance Exam

1. If the candidates are eligible for the AAU VET entrance exam then the candidate is required to fill the application form on the Assam Agricultural University official website http://cld.aau.ac.in/.
2. The candidate needs to fill out the application form before the last date of the entrance exam.
3. When the candidate fills the entrance exam then the candidate is required to follow some instructions like the candidate needs to select the course he wants to pursue.
4. After the form filling the candidate needs to upload a passport-size photograph and signature to complete the registration process.

Photograph: The size of the photograph must be 20 KB to 50 KB and the format should be JPG and JPEG.

Signature: For the signature, the candidate needs to be 15 KB to 30 KB size, and the type will be JPG and JPEG. Take the 3-4 prints of the Form for Future Use.

Some General Instructions

• The candidate submits the application form only in online mode. Other modes are not acceptable.
• For qualifying candidates, the university does not publish a separate counselling letter. In the merit list, the university declares the candidate’s name and counselling date and placement at the merit list.
• If the candidate is not present in the first counselling, then the university appears as the second AAU VET 2026 counselling for those candidates.
• Assam Agricultural University does not provide relaxation to any category of candidates.

AAU VET 2026 Exam Pattern

AAU VET 2026 Exam Centre

Assam Agricultural University mentioned the examination centre on the admit card. The university will have only three examination centres for the exam.

These cities are Jorhat, Guwahati, and Biswanath Chariali. At the form-filling time, the candidate will choose the examination centre.

If the candidate selected the examination centre once, then it cannot be changed. The candidate can fill out the examination centre in the application form, but the examination body gives preference according to the selection of the examination centre by the candidate.

AAU VET 2026 Syllabus

Assam Agricultural University has a predefined syllabus for the entrance exam. The question will be defined based on 12th-class questions. The topics will be taken from Physics, Chemistry, and Math/Biology subjects.

This syllabus is declared by the examination authority of the Assam Agriculture University. By using this syllabus, the candidate will be prepared for the AAU VET 2026 Entrance Exam.

The university asks only objective types of questions. The duration to solve the question paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is a negative marking, and for each correct answer, the candidate gets 1 mark.

If the candidate gives one incorrect answer, then the university deducts the .25 marks for an incorrect answer. The medium of the entrance exam is the English medium.

AAU VET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification Criteria:- If the candidate takes the registration in AAU VET 2026 exam then the candidate should have passed the 12th class with a minimum of 50%marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English subjects. If this eligibility criterion is qualified then the candidate can apply for registration.

Age Limit:- The other limit of the registration is the candidate’s minimum eligibility criteria of 17 years and the maximum age eligibility criteria is 25 years before the 31st December of the examination year.

In addition, the candidate possesses a certificate proving that they are a resident of Assam and have family ties to the Indian Army. The candidate may apply for registration if they meet these requirements.
