Overview

Vellore Institute of Technology, also known as VIT or VIT University, is a private research university established in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College. It received university status in 2001. The university has five campuses: VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT AP, VIT Bhopal, and VIT Bangalore. VIT Vellore is approved by UGC and accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. It ranked 11^th for B.Tech and 19^th for Overall in 2024.
