Overview

MD full form is Doctor of Medicine, derived from the Latin word Medicinae Doctor. MD course is a 2-3 years professional medical course where students receive specialized training in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases. Students need to complete the 5-year MBBS course and a mandatory 6-month training to be eligible to pursue the MD course.

MD Admission Process is solely done based on an entrance exam such as NEET PG for all national universities and INI CET for some colleges such as AIIMS. Top MD Colleges in India include AIIMS, King George Medical University, JIPMER, etc. MBBS and MD are the pioneer courses in healthcare.   • Candidates need to apply at the official portal of the college they want to pursue.
  • Next, they need to make an application ID, fill out the application form by inserting the details accordingly.
  • Candidates have to wait till the merit list of the college is issued on a specific date. If candidates’ names are on the list, they need to report at the college campus.
  • This will follow the counselling phase; after that seat, allotment will be done accordingly.
Entrance Based Admission
  • For entrance-based admission, candidates need to go to the official website of the college they want to pursue and see what entrance exams are accepted by that college for the MD course.
  • Based on that, candidates need to apply at the official website of the governing body of that exam and sit for it.
  • Candidates who qualify for the exam can apply at the college’s official website.
  • Make an application ID and complete the application form by completing the necessary details and uploading their entrance exam scores.
  • A merit list will be issued on a specific date, and if candidates get their names on the list, they might have to go for the interview round or group discussion, which will decide their final selection.
