St Joseph University:Overview

St Joseph University Bangalore also known as SJU Bangalore is an institution registered under the public – private partnership. It is recognized by UGC and accredited by NAAC with A++ rank. The university has an excellent academic reputation and has received several notable rankings such as 5th place in Computer Applications  Ranking 2025 and 17th in Arts by The Week Ranking 2025.

SJU has various programs available at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in various disciplines, with B.Sc being the popular program. About College life, she said, “For the PG department of Mass Communication and Journalism, an annual fest called MediaCon is conducted, which is an international research conference. This year we celebrated the 9th edition of the conference. The library of our university is vast, I mean it! It has every book. Every classroom is well equipped with a good number of chairs and desks, projectors and speakers.”

About Placements she mentioned, “Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.”

• For UG programs like B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, BSW, and B.Voc., candidates must apply through the St Joseph’s University official admission portal.
• After registering and filling out the online application form, applicants are selected based on Class 12 marks.
• For specific courses such as BBA (Strategic Finance), B.Com. (IFA), and B.A. (Journalism, Psychology, Theatre), B.Voc, etc., candidates have to attend the SJUET Exam.
• The merit list or selection list is published on the university website.

SJU Bangalore PG Admission:

• For PG programs such as M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MCA and MSW applicants must have a relevant bachelor’s degree and apply directly through the university’s admission portal.
