Sri Devaraj University shortly referred to as SDUMC, is a constituent college of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research under the aegis of Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes, Kolar, Karnataka. Sri Devaraj University offers an MBBS program, 14 MD courses, 5 MS courses, 10 Ph.D. courses, and 1 Fellowship. Sri Devaraj URS Medical College Admissions
Admissions to the MBBS program and the MD/ MS programs are made on the basis of NEET UG and PG respectively. Post the examination, the online counseling process will be followed to get admission to Sri Devaraj University. Following provisional admission based on the online counseling rounds, the student is also required to verify the documents with the college either physically or online.
How to Apply to NEET-UG?
- Visit the official website ie. https://www.ntaneet.nic.in/ and click on the ‘New Registration’ link. Click on Apply online and fill in the form.
- On receiving the Login credentials, sign in using the same, and complete the Application form.
- Upload the documents and pictures as required.
- Pay the application fee through UPI App/ Debit card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ E-wallet.
- Take a print out of NEET 2024 Application Form as well as of the confirmation page.
How to Apply for NEET-PG?
- Visit the official website nbe.edu.in. Select NEET-PG, and click on Proceed to Application. Fill in the required details.
- On receiving the application number and password, log in and fill in the details.
- Upload the required documents and images.
- Choose the appropriate exam location, exam test center, and the preferred date and time.
- Pay the application fee via debit card/credit card/ net banking/ e-wallet.
Allotment of Seats
The counseling process NEET-PG is currently in progress, while the NEET-UG registration for counseling will begin in August. Both processes are conducted by MCI. The candidates have to fill in their preferred choices of college while registering. If the candidate is allotted Sri Devaraj University, the candidate must report to the college for verification of documents on the intimated date and time. However, this verification process can also be done online.
Sri Devaraj URS Medical College Facilities
Some of the facilities of the college include:
- Hostel: there are separate Men’s and Women’s hostels, divided into Under Graduate Hostel, AHS Hostel, Post Graduate Hostel, and the Resident Hostel. The hostel facilities include RO-UV Plant for drinking & cooking purposes, Reading rooms, Recreation hall with TV facility, Gym, Newspaper facility, Wi-Fi facility, and a Visitors lounge.
- Library: The library is spread over 3642 sq. mtrs and can accommodate 700 users at a time. It has state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as Wi-Fi facilities to browse and access the resources. It has a total of 11910989 textbooks, 17398006 reference books, 59547528 journals, and 14790763 e-journals.
- Sports and Fitness Centre: Sri Devaraj University has established a Volleyball court, a Basketball court, Two Tennis courts & a Throwball court with permanent floodlights in addition to the outdoor arena viz. Football/Athletic ground. It also has an indoor sports complex with a Badminton Court, Two Table Tennis Tables, and Multi Gym facilities.
- Other facilities include ATM and Bank, Food Court, Information Technology Centre, Student Counselling Services, and a proximate Campus Store.
Placement:
The college achieves approximately an 80% placement rate among its students, with many securing positions in reputable hospital chains such as Apollo and Max. The highest salary package ranges from 20 to 24 LPA, while the lowest package is between 6 to 8 LPA. Internships are a critical component of the curriculum, with a 100% internship rate.
Students must complete a compulsory internship after 4.5 years of study at RL Jalappa Hospital and Research Center, rotating through various departments. Stipends for internships vary, with some receiving up to 19 LPA annually. Many students pursue further education, such as MBBS and MD super specialities, and the college prepares them well for both employment and advanced studies.
Scholarship:
The institute offers various scholarships, including the Sri Ramakrishna Hegde scholarship for general merit (GM) students and the Sri Devaraj Urs scholarship for OBC students, with a total scholarship amount of approximately 28,00,000. Additionally, students may apply for financial assistance from the Karnataka government. A scholarship of 25,000 per annum is provided to the top 25 rank holders of each batch who pass without backlog. Furthermore, scholarships are awarded to 15 general and 15 OBC students based on NEET ranks in the first year and university exam marks from the second year onward.
The annual tuition fee is 17.6 lakh for the 2022 batch, with a security deposit of 10,000 and registration fees of 2,500, while the NRI quota fee is 65,000 US dollars per annum. Tuition fees include miscellaneous expenses, and exam fees range from 3.5k to 7k. Admission is through NEET, with two merit lists for general and OBC categories per batch.
