Apart from providing world-class, employment-oriented and globally relevant knowledge, SVU is known for its vibrant, positive and 50 acres huge campus. In addition, following the words of its respected Founder, the University has developed an amazing ambiance for students to explore Indian culture, values and morality along with their studies. Below mentioned are some of the full-fledged features and facilities of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, which makes it different from others.

Smart Classrooms: Somaiya Vidyavihar has developed commodious, and hi-tech classrooms where daily lectures are conducted by faculty using PPT, and Animated Videos etc. Other than this, University has made every amenity available here including a ceiling mount projector, a screen connected to computers and audio-video devices. The aim is to give the best environment to students for studies and collaborative activities. 

Library: To supplement subject knowledge of faculty and students and help them in research projects, dedicated libraries have been established by the University in each institution. A comprehensive literature collection is also available here for each discipline SVU has in its courses. 

Apart from this, each library hosts a rich collection of textbooks and reference books based on institute courses along with Periodicals, Journals, Magazines, CDs/DVDs, Newspapers and a reference section. Students can even access different open-access resources such as E-books, E-Journals, Thesis and Dissertation and audio-visual material. Furthermore, remote access through SVV Net ID, has been provided to them for accessing library content anywhere and anytime.

Accomodation: To give a home-like ambiance to students away from their homes, so that each feels safe while chasing their dreams, SVU has 4 hostels as follows. Also, to ensure everyone’s safety, each hostel has CCTV cameras all over the campus. Seats here are allotted on a first-come-first-served basis. Also, all hostels are well-resourced with facilities like spacious rooms with attached washrooms, beds, study tables, separate cupboards, air cooler or AC as needed, 24*7 power and internet connectivity, mess, recreational space, etc.

• Sandipani Hostel: This boys hostel has 230 Triple Sharing and Double Sharing (only for NRIs) rooms in total. The building is spread over an area of 1,53,000 sq.ft across 11 floors. 600+ students can be accommodated here at a time. 
• Maitreyi Hostel: This hostel has a total of 130 Triple Sharing and Double Sharing (only for NRIs) rooms and an intake capacity of 373 girls. The building has 5 floors and is spread over an area of 94,000 sq.ft.
• Polytechnic Hostel: This hostel is both girls and boys and has a total of 6 floors and 71 rooms. All rooms can accommodate 4 students at a time. Here, the first 2 floors are dedicated for girls and the rest 4 floors are for boys.
• Ashtavakra Hostel: This hostel has 12 floors in total and is spread over a huge area of 216994.71 sq.ft. The hostel has an intake capacity of 712 boys and girls on Twin sharing, triple sharing basis and Dormitory.

Sports and Performing Arts: To keep students physically fit and mentally healthy, University has developed big playgrounds and enough arrangements inside college’s. And students have a plethora of indoor and outdoor sports activities ranging from Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Football, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Powerlifting, Skating, Tennis, Squash, Taekwondo and Volleyball etc. to play, enjoy and rejuvenate themselves. Tracks have been made for Athletics as well.

Gym: There is also a gym inside campus for students and others to do physical exercise to reduce rest and boost productivity.

Center for Experiential Learning: SCEL has been developed to encourage the use of technology among students for new innovation. Students, teachers, corporate experts and different sections of the society get to learn numerous things related to Environmental Sustainability and Heritage Conservation. Different kinds of Youth Programs, Corporate Programs and Custom-Designed Programs are regularly conducted by the University.

Help and Support: The University always makes sure that students don’t feel alone when disturbed, hence proper guidance and counseling is provided by experts to needy ones for their academic and non-academic issues.

Auditorium: A cutting-edge Auditorium has been developed by the SVU on campus to seamlessly organize events such as guest lectures, workshops, webinars, seminars, and training programs. All facilities ranging from a public speaking system, projectors, internet connectivity, audio-video systems, etc. are available here.

Cafeteria: SVU has an aesthetically developed canteen to offer fresh, delicious, and good quality food items and snacks to both students and staff members at a reasonable price. 

Student Incubator: Along with providing well-rounded education, ensuring a research supported ambiance for students always remains at the forefront of SVU. Hence a dedicated Incubator has been developed on campus to support start-up ideas. Industry’s finest business experts are part of the panel who regularly mentor the start-ups proposed by the students. Till date, 45+ start-ups have rolled on the floor and they in return have created 200+ jobs by raising $1 million+ funds.

Wellness and Creation: An architecture for allowing students to live a balanced and fit life, has been established by the University. In addition, uncountable opportunities are provided to students to support their personal well-being.

Security: Strict security measures have been implemented by the University to ensure safety of students and staff members on campus. Also, students living in hostels are disbursed a card, which they need to carry all the time and without permission no one is allowed to go anywhere. CCTV cameras monitor each activity happening on campus 24*7.
