Overview
Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences (SHUATS) is a government-aided state university in Prayagraj, UP. It was established in 1910 and is recognized by the ICAR. SHUATS has 60 departments,15 constituent colleges, and 4 research centers. The university is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. IIRF ranked the SHUATS Journalism program 55th in 2025, and Collegedunia ranked the overall university 405th in 2025.
SHUATS offers M.Sc as its flagship program; other popular programs are B.Sc. (Hons) and B.Tech. SHUATS is also popular for conducting research studies in the field of Plant Protection. Admission to these UG and PG programs is based on the merit rank obtained by the candidates in SOETAP (SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Agriculture & Pharmacy), followed by merit-based counselling. How to take admission at SHUATS 2025
Admission to all the UG, PG, and diploma programs is granted based on the SOETAP and merit-based online counselling conducted solely by SHUATS. The university charges a total fee ranging from INR 1.4-2.4 lakhs for its MSc program.

Does SHUATS offer Scholarships?
SHUATS offers various scholarships to bonafide students of the university, who have a good, extraordinary academic record and belong to a weaker socio-economic background. Eligible Students can avail of the state, National (NSP), Scholarship & UGC-JRF Fellowship.

- SHUATS-DU work scholarship: SHUATS provides financial assistance to students as an “Earn While Learning Scheme” where students can study while working for SHUATS. Selected UG and PG students are paid INR 25 per hour. The maximum earning of a student per month is INR 1000. Students are required to work for a minimum of 40 hours per month.
- Yeshu Darbar Scholarship: These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students.
