Overview

National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi was established in the year 1962 by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India as a UNESCO Regional Centre and developed into status of University in 2006. It is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It is located on Sri Aurobindo Marg, in South of New Delhi opposite Qutub Hotel, adjoining to NCERT and Indian Institute of Technology Campuses.

NIEPA Courses with eligibility:

M. Phil10+2+3 scheme with 2 years of post-graduation with above 50% marks.
Ph.DA minimum of 55% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates and PwD) or its equivalent grade in Master’s Degree in social sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized university.

Application Form

  • Fill the admission form.
  • Wait for the counseling dates to be announced.
  • Direct Admission through Merit: General Programs, seats are filled directly through the merit based on the score of last qualifying Examination.
  • Admission Through Management Quota: Admission on Few Reserved seats of Management Quota for Both Direct & Entrance exam based Programs. The main Fee is applicable to all programs by taking admission in Management Quota.

NIEPA Selection Process:

  • Initial short-listing of applications will be carried out on the basis of relevance and quality of the brief write-up in the proposed area of research to be submitted along with the application form. Short-listed candidates will be required to appear for a written test and those qualifying in the written test will be subjected to personal interviews to assess their motivation and potential leading to final shortlisting and preparation of panel of selected candidates, in order of merit.
  • NiEPA will follow all mandatory provisions in the reservation policy of Govt. of India. Admissions to M.Phil., PhD & Part-time PhD Programs will be made purely on the basis of merit following the prescribed criteria of the University
  • The University reserves the right to decide the number of seats to be filled in the year 2020-21 the criteria for screening of applications; and the selection procedure of candidates for admission to its M.Phil & PhD Programs

NIEPA Fellowship

  • NIEPA has constituted 10 fellowships each for the students of M.Phil. and Ph. D. Programme. The fellowships are granted according to norms laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the same.
  • The fellowships are also open to candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) and have been awarded Junior Research Fellowships by UGC-CSIR. However, the fellowships would be offered to the NET qualified candidates through their respective organizations. For continuing availing the fellowship, a student has to show satisfactory performance in each quarter.
