The university is approved and affiliated to the University Grant Commission and the Government of Bihar. They follow the guidelines provided by them and select students based on merit and entrance exams, UG-GET. The selection process is based on various entrance exams and the marks scored in the HSC with the subjects that are relevant and necessary for the field chosen with at least 50% passed marks in the last qualifying examination.

The university is situated in Jamuhar which is located on old GT Road between Sasaram and Dehri-on-sone at an equal distance of 8kms, is built on a 50+ acres land has various faculty and departments present on campus with the top infrastructure that is equipped with modern necessities to make the campus user friendly and comfortable for their students and faculty.
