Steps to Follow After Results for NEET Counselling
Check Eligibility and Rank
Check your NEET score and All India Rank (AIR) immediately after the results are declared on NTA (National Testing Agency) official website. This information is important for understanding your position in the AIQ and state counseling which is conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee).
Research and Prepare
- Know your Options: Explore the colleges you are eligible for, including their rankings, course offerings and past cutoffs.
- Document Preparation: Collect all necessary documents, including NEET scorecard, admit card, identity card, class 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable) and recent passport-sized photographs.
Registration
Candidates who have qualified for NEET UG must first register online on the official counseling website. This involves creating a profile, entering personal and academic details, and paying the required counseling fee.
Choice Filling and Locking

Reporting to the Allotted College
Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the designated college within the specified time frame. During reporting, candidates need to carry original documents for verification and complete the admission formalities.
Document Verification
At the allotted college, candidates must undergo a document verification process. The necessary documents typically include:
- NEET UG Admit Card and Scorecard

Upgradation and Second Round Counseling
Candidates who are not satisfied with their allotted seat or wish to upgrade can participate in subsequent rounds of counseling. They need to indicate their willingness for upgradation during the reporting process or in their online profile.
Joining the College
Once the seat is confirmed and all formalities are completed, candidates can join the college as per the academic schedule. It’s important to attend the orientation and start attending classes as per the college’s guidelines.
