Auniati University is a private university which began in 2023 through the Auniati University Act (Assam Act No. XXXIX of 2022) and was established under Sri Sri Auniati satra, Majuli in Assam, one of the biggest Vaishnavite monasteries in the state that sprang up following the bhakti movement headed by Mahapurush Sri Sri Shankaradeva, Damodardev, Harideva, Madhabdeva and other Bhakti Saints of Assam in the early 16th century.
Based on the traditional Indian ideals inspired by Satriya culture, Auniati University aims to provide a cutting-edge education in the 64 kalas which encompass science, medicine, technology as well as creation of a research environment responsive to social, cultural and moral needs of society. This institution was initiated by ‘Auniati Socio-cultural and Educational Development Trust’ under Sri Auniati Satra with its head office at Majuli, Assam.
