A component of SRM University is SRM (Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University) Engineering College. Originally established as SRM Engineering College in 1985, SRM University is a private, coeducational institution. After gaining recognized status in 2002, the institute changed its name to SRM Institute of Science and Technology. When it became a fully-developed university in 2006, as defined by section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, it changed its name to SRM University.

• In 2013, SRM received a ‘A’ grade from NAAC for accreditation.
  One of India’s top institutions, SRM University has 38,000 students and 2600 staff members spread across all campuses.
  It provides a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate courses in science and humanities, engineering, management, and medicine and health sciences.

• Positioning
  Engineers from SRM University have a stellar placement record with reputable firms. Three businesses made 3689 bids in all on the first day.
  Three reputable organizations, including Cognizant, Infosys, and Wipro, were visited on the first day. The company Cognizant made 1502 job offers, followed by INFOSYS with 1105 and WIPRO with 1082. The majority of organizations give salaries between 3.0 and 3.5 lakhs annually.
  Additionally, 600 students have been hired by more than 50 different firms. About 200 students who are graduating have been given paid internships by some of the firms.

Extracurricular Activities:
