NERIST offers bachelor’s degree programmes in 6 engineering disciplines and one in forestry. The Engineering disciplines are Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. NERIST Course Admission is based on the NEE entrance exams conducted by the institute at three different levels. The institute offers admission to the students starting from the base level i.e. students are eligible to apply for NERIST certificate courses after Class X. Candidates must attempt the NEE-I exam for certificate course admission.Â
For admission to the UG-level degree courses, the institute admits students via NEE-II and NEE-III exams. Candidates seeking admission to the NERIST B.Tech and B.Sc. (Forestry) programs must qualify for the NEE-II exam whereas the B.Tech lateral entry applicants should qualify for the NEE-III exam. Apart from NEE-II & NEE-III, NERIST also accepts the JEE Main entrance scores for B.Tech admissions.Â
Besides, admission to the postgraduate programs of NERIST is done via the national-level entrance exams. NERIST accepts the GATE entrance scores for M.Tech admissions. Whereas, the CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT scores are considered for admission to the MBA at NERIST Nirjuli followed by a GD or PI round. The institute conducts a written test for PG and Ph.D. students who have not attempted the national-level examinations.Â
NERIST Counselling: Once the candidate has a valid score in the entrance examination, he or she must apply for NERIST counselling. The names of the selected/ waitlisted candidates, along with the date and time of counselling will be uploaded on the institute website @www.nerist.ac.in. Candidates can download their counselling letter from the website. At the time of counselling/ admission, the candidates will have to produce all the relevant original certificates/ documents along with attested copies of the same.Â

The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted for admission to certificate and undergraduate courses at the institute. There are three exams: NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III which are conducted every year in the month of April to admit students in different modules. The test is conducted offline at various test centres and students can apply online on the official website. The exam consist of MCQs and is conducted for a total of 150 marks. Â

NERIST Result 2024 has been declared for the NEE entrance examinations for B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral Entry), B.Sc. (Forestry) and Certificate courses. The institute has released the result in PDF format containing the list of shortlisted and waitlisted students along with their Roll No, Gender, Category, Branch Code, Reservation Code, Selection Category and Overall rank. NERIST Placements 2024 is ongoing and till now 29 companies have visited the campus and 148 students have been offered job opportunities. The highest number of offers is grabbed by Mechanical Engineering students. Apart from the placement, NERIST also gives a chance to its student to attend 30 days long industrial training to develop their skills and practical knowledge in their field. NERIST is offering studentship to the students on a need cum merit basis. Students can also apply for the GATE scholarship and NET JRF or CSIR JRF fellowship to pursue their research programs. Some of the scholarships offered by NERIST are as follows:
NERIST Campus is spread over an area of 500 acres. The institute has various facilities such as a Sub-Post Office, a Branch of SBI with ATM facilities, a departmental store, a Canteen, a Medical Health Unit, etc. There are recreational clubs for the faculty & officers. For stationery items, stores are provided in boys’ and girls’ hostel compounds. NERIST also has two Multi-gym, one indoor badminton court, three basketball courts and a playground.
NERIST has a total of 10 hostels, among which 8 hostels are for boys and 2 hostels are for girls. The hostels are within walking distance from the academic blocks. Students must pay the hostel mess fees in advance as follows:
