“MBBS in Poland” is a familiar Indian search term. Universities commonly describe the route as six-year Medicine, an M.D. / lekarz qualification or a long-cycle Master’s programme. It is a primary medical qualification—not the same as an Indian postgraduate MD. Gdańsk’s English programme, for example, has 12 semesters and 360 ECTS. [1]

Build a six-year study budget—with room for what follows
Use one currency for all costs. Start with Gdańsk’s published 2026 tuition reference, then replace living, other costs, reserve and FX with your own verified plan.
Gdańsk’s Admission 2026 page lists PLN 64,200 annually for years 1–6. This scenario uses six years at 0% increase; confirm current contractual terms. PLN 3,500/month housing + living, PLN 25,000 total other costs (including the PLN 3,100 orientation fee), 10% reserve and ₹23/PLN are illustrative assumptions—not complete current quotes or live FX. Separate postgraduate internship, Polish licensing and the later Indian pathway are not automatically included.
Calculation: annual-basis tuition = sum of starting tuition × (1 + annual increase) raised to year 0, 1, …; full-period tuition = your entered total once. Add months × monthly living + other costs, then the reserve, then convert to INR. Changing tuition years resets living months to 12 × years; edit months afterwards if needed. Currency changes clear financial amounts and the old conversion rate. Changing tuition basis clears the tuition amount to prevent double-counting. No live rates, loan interest, salary, scholarship, stipend or unentered costs are assumed.
Different fees by year, payment plan or internship? Add confirmed amounts and choose full-period tuition. Set living months separately. Do not add a deposit twice when it is already credited toward tuition.
Keep Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy distinct

Gdańsk and NCU publish six-year Medicine routes; NCU’s curriculum provides the examples below. These are not universal semester assignments for every Polish medical school. [1] [14]
Biomedical foundations and clinical reasoning
Learning-area summary, not a fixed national timetable.
- Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology and pathology develop the scientific foundation.
- Check the actual curriculum for ethics, communication, research methods and evidence-based medicine.
Clinical subjects and supervised care
NCU’s published Medicine offer provides examples across medical specialties.
- Internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynaecology, neurology, emergency and family medicine feature in the listed programme.
- Review the real hospital placements, supervision, simulation and case assessments—not just campus photographs.
Summer placements and final-year practical learning
Undergraduate clinical experience and postgraduate internship are different categories.
- NCU lists four-week summer placements after years 1–5 across specified healthcare settings.
- Do not add short placements together and assume they constitute the NMC-prescribed 12-month internship at the same foreign institution.
Postgraduate internship, LEK and licence
The academic degree is not the whole right-to-practise process.
- UWM describes a 13-month Polish-language postgraduate route and a separate six-month English route for eligible graduates.
- Check the actual route, recognition, Polish language and medical-chamber requirements—and assess Indian requirements separately.

Separate the degree, Polish licence and Indian registration
Internship, LEK & the NMC pathway: check before paying.
Six years does not prove a qualifying internship.
UWM’s own graduate guidance distinguishes a 13-month Polish postgraduate internship and a six-month English postgraduate route. Its English internship page limits that route to eligible UWM graduates within two years of graduation. A six-month route is not, by itself, evidence of the separate 12-month foreign internship in the applicable NMC framework. Do not rely on an agent’s “internship included in year six” assurance. NBEMS still publishes FMGE material at review; no universal replacement by NExT or future exam prediction is made. Earlier cohorts, transfers and interrupted/online study need individual review. The June 2026 NMC FAQ is not a blanket waiver for a short Polish internship. [22] [23]

Check the exact scholarship’s nationality, programme level, field, intake and renewal conditions. A second-cycle Master’s award, Erasmus mobility grant or research fellowship is not automatically funding for a six-year long-cycle Medicine degree.

NAWA is not a Medicine admission decision. Its individual statement is issued digitally, free of charge, after a complete SYRENA submission; it confirms access to apply for first-/long-cycle studies. Automatic recognition for certain credentials, including IB/EB and specified country documents, and earlier Polish education-authority recognition can change the requirement. Many Indian school credentials require individual verification. [16]
An offer is not a visa—and a visa is not a medical licence
Poland student visa, residence & practical safety.
Poland’s India study-visa page directs applicants to e-Konsulat registration, the additional VFS application form and personal submission at the appropriate Visa Application Centre. Check your consular jurisdiction and use official links rather than appointment guarantees from intermediaries. [17]

Does every six-year programme include a qualifying one-year internship?
No such universal conclusion is established. Undergraduate practical training and postgraduate internship are distinct; UWM publishes a separate six-month English route and a 13-month Polish route. Assess the applicable Indian 12-month foreign-internship condition separately. [11] [12] [21]
Is a six-month English postgraduate internship enough for India?

Where is NCU’s medical teaching campus?
Research Medicine through NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, rather than relying solely on the parent university’s Toruń identity. Confirm your actual programme/campus in the offer.
Is there one national PCB percentage cutoff?
No single university-admission percentage covers all reviewed routes. Polish schools use different science subjects, credential conversion and test/interview ranking. Check Indian academic conditions separately.
Is NEET the only test required?
No. Covered Indian applicants need qualifying NEET under the relevant conditions, while universities can require science/competency tests or interviews. Warsaw and Gdańsk publish separate selection requirements. [2] [1] [20]
Do I need English proof even if my school taught in English?
Check the accepted-document rules. The study-visa checklist requires institution-level evidence no lower than B2; Warsaw lists higher test thresholds such as IELTS Academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 87. A school letter is not automatically sufficient. [3] [18]
What is NAWA recognition used for?
The individual statement confirms access to apply for first-/long-cycle studies in Poland. It does not grant a Medicine seat, visa or professional medical licence. Credential-specific exceptions and earlier recognition must be checked. [16]
Is there an upcoming Silesia Medicine window?
The published summer-semester 2026–27 Medicine International Program calendar schedules registration for 12 October–30 December 2026. At the 28 September review it has not yet opened. Reconfirm availability and requirements directly. [9]
Is UWM taking new Medicine applications on 28 September?
Its reviewed Round VIII registration ended 22 September. The 28 September 15:00 step is confirmation for qualified candidates, not a new application window. Check for any later official notice. [10]
Are Warsaw instalments the same cost as paying annually?
No. The 2026–27 Medicine schedule lists EUR 18,800 annually, versus EUR 19,200 in two instalments or EUR 19,600 in four. The EUR 1,000 confirmation fee is part of tuition, so do not automatically add it again. [4] [5]
Does the calculator include all post-graduation costs?
No. It totals entered tuition, living months, other costs, reserve and manual FX. The default is a six-year study illustration; postgraduate internship, Polish licensing and the later Indian pathway are not automatically included.
Can I practise anywhere in the EU after graduation?
Not automatically. The Polish degree, LEK, internship/recognition, language, professional registration and destination immigration rules must be checked. EU location is not an unrestricted worldwide medical licence. [11] [19]
