Manipur University is a Central University established in 1980 in the capital of Manipur, Imphal. NAAC accredited grade ‘A’ to the UGC recognised Central University. Manipur University has 119 affiliated colleges including 2 medical colleges. Moreover, the Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) comes under the School Of Engineering as a constituent college. The campus spreads across 287.5 acres sheltered in the scenic location of Imphal.

Manipur University Courses & Fees
Manipur University has more than 50 undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degree specializations. The university has established nine schools of studies and currently has 46 departments and four different Centre of studies for students. The school of studies includes the School of Humanities, Education, Environmental Sciences, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Medical Sciences, and more.
The admissions into all the courses are based on Manipur University Entrance Test (MUET) scores. Applicants who did not appear for MUET, may appear for CUET exams and apply for the university admissions. Manipur University Admissions
Manipur University offers admissions in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The selection of the shortlisted candidates will be on the basis of MUET or CUET exam scores. The 50% seats will be filled by Manipur University entrance test scores and the other half with CUET scores.
Once the applicant appears for the entrance exam, and registers for the university admissions, the Manipur University releases merit lists. The merit list on the official website will consist of shortlisted candidates, name and scores. Then the shortlisted candidates must go to the college campus for document verification. Once the documents are verified by the concerned authorities, the students can pay the course fee online to reserve their seat.
At the time of application, the scanned copies of the below mentioned documents must be attached. However, the shortlisted candidates must submit the original copies of the documents at the time of document verification.
How To Apply at Manipur University?
The applicants can follow the below given steps to apply online at Manipur University for UG and PG programs.
- Applications for admission are to be submitted only through online at www.manipuruniv.ac.in.
- Applicants must register themselves by navigating ‘Registration for Admission’ and further clicking on “New Registration”.
- Fill out the registration form with accurate personal information.
- Then proceed to login on the admission portal of Manipur University.
- Fill out all the details such as academic history, test results, selected course, and personal information.
- Then attach all necessary documents within the size constraints.
- Pay the application fee of INR 300 for General/OBC/EWS and INR 200 for SC/ST/PWD must be paid online only.
- Upon completion, print out the application form for future references.
Once the applicants have filled the application form, wait for the merit lists of the shortlisted candidates to publish on the official website. The shortlisted candidates then proceed with the document verification and fee payment.

Examinations in Manipur University are conducted in the months of May – June and November – December every year. Manipur University Facilities
- DACE: Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence has been created by Manipur University. The DACE offers free UPSC preparation classes to Scheduled Caste students. Each centre has a total of 100 seats, with 33% reserved for female candidates. This service is available to all SC students at Manipur University across all programs.
- Health care Centre: Manipur University has University health care, Centre to benefit students, staff members, residents and outside patience near the university campus. It has a resident medical officer, a dental surgeon for female staff, nurses, one male staff nurse, a pharmacist physiotherapist, and two Ambulance drivers. It is to make sure that everyone around and in the campus get ENT, eye, skin and general medical care.
- Hostels: Manipur University has six male hostels, and eight girls hostels within the campus to accommodate more than 1000 students. Do University has a hostel mess with indoor stadiums for badminton, table tennis, and weightlifting for students.
- Research facilities: Manipur University has research facilities for different departments such as Department of life sciences, biotechnology and more. It also incorporates an animal house, a greenhouse with a museum to inculcate practical knowledge for students.
