Dehradun Institute of Technology was formed in 1998 by the Unison group and was established by Govt. of Uttarakhand vide Act No.10. It is a private institution that has partnerships with ASSOCHAM India, FICCI, and CII. DIT University and its degrees are recognized by the UGC, New Delhi, and by the Nepal Engineering Council. DIT University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. The Pharmacy Council of India has approved the B.Pharm Program, and the Council of Architecture has approved the BArch Program.

DIT University Cutoff
DIT University accepts admission based on both merit scores of the 10+12 class, graduation, and entrance examination. For B.Tech programs, JEE ranks are considered while for MBA CAT/SAT/XAT/UKSEE/DUET scores are considered. In addition to holding its entrance test, the DUET, the institution accepts GATE for PG programs and uses it to shortlist applicants for MPharm, MTech, and PhD programs.

DIT University Admission
DIT University admission 2024 is based on both merit and entrance examinations for admission to over 70 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. For admission to particular degrees, the institution accepts national entrance tests like as JEE Main, UKSEE, MAT, XAT, CAT, etc. To choose students for MPharm, MTech, and PhD programs, the institution also administers its admission exam, known as the DUET. The admission requires students to register online for counselling sessions or group discussions and personal interviews for the respective courses.
How To Apply
The application form for the counselling process can be filled out online by visiting the website. The detailed application process is as follows:
- Register using a valid email address and phone number, and pay the registration fee.
- Update the DIT University Registration Form with your qualifying marks.
- Click on “Counselling Form” to upload 10th and 12th grade marksheets for UG programs, and 10th, 12th, and graduation marksheets for PG programs.
- Upload your certificate of residence.
- If the final year mark sheet is still pending for PG programs, please submit the grades from the prior year or semester.
- Choose your preferred program option, from which your seat will be assigned following the schedule.
- Following successful counselling, an Admission Fee must be paid to confirm the seat.

The Career Services Department (CSD) of DIT University organizes DIT Placement Utsav every year. CSD organizes workshops, training sessions, webinars, industrial visits, internships, and on-campus placements by inviting and collaborating with leading companies. During the DIT University placements in 2023, more than 350 recruiters took part and made 1,350 job offers to students enrolled in the BTech, MTech, MBA, and other programs. DIT University Scholarship
DIT University offers several scholarships for students with academic excellence. The scholarships are based on the merit of the students. The scholarships are mentioned below:
- Merit-Based Scholarships: Scholarships are based on merit throughout the program. Students get 10, 20, and 30% of scholarships on tuition fees.
- Uttarakhand / Other Himalayan States Scholarships: A 26% scholarship on Tuition fees is granted to the permanent residents of Uttarakhand / Other Himalayan States for whom 40% of seats are reserved in all UG / PG programs. For claiming the scholarship students need to carry a valid Original Domicile Certificate at the time of their Counseling / Admission.
- Shri Naveen Agarwal Ji Scholarship For Girl Students: 10% scholarship on Tuition fee for Girl students in 1st year of the UG program, if the student has scored 80% and above in X & XII Standard. For continuation of CGPA of 8.5 should be maintained every year.
- Scholarship For Son/Daughter Of Defence Personnel: 5% scholarship on Tuition fees for the wards of Defense personnel. Students will be considered eligible only if she/he has a valid certificate.
- Scholarship Based On Performance In Sports: The scholarship will be awarded as per the Sports Quota Scholarship Policy only for the 1st year of the program.
- Financial Assistance For Sibling(s): 5% scholarship on Tuition fee of the first year for the siblings of present students/alumni.
- Scholarship For Ward Of Single Mothers: 5% scholarship on Tuition fees for the ward of a single mother whose income is less than 5 LPA.
- Scholarship For Differently Abled Students: A scholarship of 5% on Tuition fees is applicable for differently-abled students.
