ToggleBirla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) is a private deemed university located in Rajasthan. The other three campuses of BITS are located in Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. BITS Pilani was established in 1964 and has received a “A” accreditation grade from the NAAC. It is one of the first six educational establishments in India to be designated a “Institute of Eminence” by the Ministry of Education. The institute offers BE, B.Pharm, M.Sc., ME, M.Pharm, MBA, and PhD programs on campus in a range of disciplines. BITS is renowned for its engineering programs and is ranked 25th in the engineering category by the NIRF Rankings 2023. The college conducts the BITSAT, an All-India entrance test, for admission to BE or BTech programs.
On campus, BITS Pilani offers courses in engineering, pharmacy, science, management, and other subjects. The university also offers working professionals Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) courses and an online B.Sc. degree. BITS increases tuition for all programs by 5% year. The eligibility requirements, selection standards, and costs for the on-campus course offerings at BITS Pilani are as follows:
What are the Dual Degree Programs offered by BITS Pilani?
Many applicants choose BITS Pilani’s dual degree programs because they allow students to get two degrees at the same time in ten semesters or five years. At the end of the first year, students can choose to add a second degree, based on their first-year CGPA. Initially, students can enroll in any BE or M.Sc. program. The most commonly selected dual degree is BE+M.Sc. This is because students can obtain both a Master of Science degree and a BE in the engineering field of their choosing thanks to the somewhat lower cutoff for M.Sc. (Hons).
Board Toppers: Regardless of their BITSAT score, the Institute will directly admit first-ranking students from all central and state boards to the program of their choosing. The top-ranked student in the PCB stream will only be considered for admission to the B. Pharm. program, but the top-ranked student in the PCM stream will be considered for admission to any first degree program of his or her choosing.
Admission of International Students: Candidates may apply for admission if they have a valid Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) score and a foreign passport. It is not necessary for these applicants to take the BITSAT. A minimum total score of 1160 (out of 1600) on the SAT (reasoning) (new format), which includes a reading test, is required of the candidate.
The whole admissions process for BITS Pilani is as follows:
First, complete the application.

Admission to BITS Pilani’s on-campus programs requires payment of the following application fees:
BITSAT Application Fees (BE/B.Pharm/M.Sc.)
Step 2: The entrance exam On the specified day, applicants who have submitted applications for admission to BITS Pilani must show up for the appropriate entrance exam, writing ability test, and in-person interview for the relevant course. Step 3: List of Merit On the official website, BITS posts the results of the seven iteration rounds as a merit list. Candidates for BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc. programs have the option to select between “Freeze” or “Slide.” The candidate will be evaluated for all of the higher preferences (as listed on their application form) in the next rounds if they select none of the two alternatives. Two distinct merit lists—one based on GATE/GPAT scores and the other based on BITS HD exam scores—are made public
The estimated publication date for the BITS Pilani cutoff 2024 is July. The minimum score needed to get admitted to the individual programs is known as the cutoff. Admission to BTech (BE), B.Pharm, and M.Sc. programs is open to seven iteration rounds. The BITSAT highest score for admissions in 2023–2024 was 390. One of the most well-liked BE programs in computer science had a final cutoff score of 331 in 2023, which was 31 points more than in 2022. Below are the final BITSAT cutoff scores from the last two years for admission to BE courses:

Students at BITS Pilani can apply for a variety of fellowships, scholarships, and other types of financial help. Approximately 30% of the students get some form of financial help from the institution. The scholarships are given out based on two criteria: family income and merit. While CGPA determines merit (the exact CGPA is revealed every semester), a household must earn Rs. 8,00,000 (8 Lacs) annually from all sources.
All awards are given out for a single semester only, and their continuance in subsequent semesters depends on the demands and academic achievement of the student at the Institute.
For students to continue earning BITS Pilani Scholarships, they must maintain a high CGPA during the course of the program.
BITS Pilani is rated as a top private institution by a number of national and international rating agencies. The BITS Pilani rankings for several fields, like as engineering, academia, pharmacy, etc., are shown here.
BITS has three campuses in India in addition to one in Dubai. BITS Pilani is the main and oldest campus. The Pilani campus is home to India’s first technological museum, the Birla Museum. Top-notch facilities on campus include labs, a library, and a sports complex.
All students at BITS Pilani have access to hostel accommodations, which are entirely residential. There is one hostel complex for females and eleven hostels for boys. Every hostel is called a “Bhawan.” The hostel rooms are completely equipped with solar water heaters, water purifiers, internet access, and other amenities. Every hostel has a common room with a telephone and cable television. There is a shared kitchen/mess facility in each of the two boys’ hostels. But there’s a separate mess at the females’ hostel. The first-year dorm expenses at BITS Pilani are INR 66,300, which includes power and meal fees. Each year, the costs will be increased. The following are some important details based on recent Collegedunia.com evaluations of the hostel:
Rooms are typically double occupancy for first-year students and single occupancy from the second year forward.
Since the first and second year hostels were only constructed, they are in excellent shape. The mess food is reasonably priced as well. Each room has two whiteboards, two LAN ports, two tables, chairs, a bed, and two almirahs.
There are about 50 restrooms and bathing cubicles on each floor, along with four water dispensers.
The menu is often refreshed and is really great. Although the meal is healthful, students claim that it doesn’t taste particularly nice.
